Who is the fairest of them all?
Over the past few months, numerous preliminary competitions have been held in the various provinces of the Netherlands, in which many candidates took part. The winners of the preliminary competitions – 42 beautiful young women – were allowed to compete in the grand finale last Friday and Saturday and prove themselves in the all-important competition for the title.
This year, the maximum age limit of 28 years for Miss Universe was abolished and, for the first time, married women and mothers were also allowed to take part.
In the spectacular final, the finalists had to overcome a number of challenges and prove themselves to the seven-member jury.
Miss Universe of the Netherlands was 27-year-old Faith Landman from Zandvoort, Miss Beauty & Miss Earth of the Netherlands is Faylinn Pattileamonia.
In addition to the national Miss Beauty, Miss Teen of the Netherlands – Liora Smit – was also crowned, who also had to hold her own against 12 competitors in the final. The 1000 tickets for the final were sold out within a few hours. The final was broadcast via LIVE stream.
Hairdreams as main sponsor
Hairdreams is the main sponsor of the Dutch beauty pageants for the sixth time.
As every year, we were there to be present at the grand finale and to admire the beauties with their shiny Hairdreams hair on stage.
We were able to contribute our expertise to the Miss Universe of the Netherlands competition and were part of the jury.

During the grand finale, a Miss Hairdreams is also chosen from the candidates to be the face of our brand for a year.
This year, two women were crowned. Miss Hairdreams is Roos, Miss Hairdreams Universe Netherlands is Lisa Charlotte.
We can look back on two great and exciting evenings and look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with the Dutch beauty pageant.
For a good cause
Miss Beauty of the Netherlands shows that such a competition can also serve a good cause. Amidst all the glamour is the desire to give something back. Charity work and social commitment are at the centre of the elections. For years, the contestants have been involved with charitable organisations to support financially weaker families in the Netherlands and projects to protect the climate. The good cause is an important reason for our interest in working together.
This year, 87,844 euros were raised for the LINDA Foundation and 21,890 euros for Simavi. The LINDA Foundation is committed to helping poor families in the Netherlands, while Simavi supports the rights of women and girls in Asia and Africa.
