Over 30 years ago, the Graz entrepreneur Gerhard Ott realised that there were lots of women who dreamt of having long, thick hair. At the time, there were no viable solutions for these women; the hair extensions on the market looked unnatural, were difficult to fit and even damaging to natural hair.
Driven by the firm conviction that there had to be a better solution, Ott started a small business in his garage. That business grew into the global market leader in premium hair extensions: Hairdreams.

The Hairdreams workshop
We most likely run the most complex hair production operation in the world. From hand-selecting individual hairs using tweezers to patented refining procedures – we monitor every stage of the manufacturing process at our processing facility to ensure you get the best quality you’ve ever experienced.
Flagship salons: first-hand experience
Hairdreams has international flagship salons in Vienna, Los Angeles and Singapore, as well as its headquarters in Graz. Over the past 40 years, Hairdreams experts have fulfilled the dreams of thousands upon thousands of customers in these salons. The Hairdreams success story
Hairdreams GmbH (LLC) was founded in 1994. Already the market leader in Europe in 2000, we entered the US market in 2001 and then the Asian market in 2012. Our constant growth and successes didn’t go unnoticed: in 2012 we were rated as a “Leading Company of Austria” and in 2013 we were awarded the Austrian State Coat of Arms.
For over 30 years we have been revolutionising the global hair extension and thickening market with our new inventions. In 2020, Hairdreams was awarded the “Innovation Award 2021/21” by the Austrian Consumer Guidance Association (ÖGVS) and the business magazine “trend” for outstanding innovation.
